Lake Forest College - Sports Center Addition
This 70,000 square foot sports center addition expands and enhances Lake Forest College's existing athletic facility. The project includes a large field house featuring three multi-surface courts to support a wide variety of sports including volleyball, basketball, tennis, and indoor soccer. A running track surrounds the gym surfaces at a mezzanine level, where additional cardio fitness areas are located. The lower level includes a 12,000 square foot strength and conditioning center, fully-accessible locker rooms, team treatment and hydrotherapy rooms, a batting cage and a dance studio. A two-level entrance lobby provides an inviting entrance to the new and existing facility.
The project included extensive mechanical and electrical assessment to determine how best to interface the new facility into existing infrastructure. Mechanical systems included a high efficiency variable flow hot water system and a central variable air volume air handling system with heat recovery.
