Educational Design

Ketchmark & Associates, Inc. has a full service staff of Professional Engineers and designers to provided mechanical and electrical engineering design services for numerous private and public schools and educational facilities. These institutions include grade schools, high schools, colleges and universities, schools for special needs such as autism, and places of learning such as Children's Museums. Our projects include new construction, additions and renovations. Educational building types range from grade school and high school classrooms and learning centers to college and university lecture halls, bookstores, admissions offices, sports centers, orchestral practice areas, recital rooms, concert auditoriums, dining and cafeterias, greenhouses, special needs and dormitories.

We incorporate an expert understanding of mechanical and electrical system design, coordination, construction methods and cost control which allow the projects we design to be built on time and in budget. And the owner's savings do not stop there. Our knowledge of energy efficiency, sustainable design and attention to long term maintenance and serviceability provide school districts and facility services low operating costs for decades to come.

In addition to working in the "front of the house" for these educational facilities, we provide mechanical and electrical engineering design for the upgrade of "back of the house" infrastructure. This includes HVAC renovations to air handling and ventilation systems, chiller and boiler replacements, generator, fire alarm and life safety improvements, lighting retrofits and temperature control upgrades. Often, these infrastructure upgrades are proceeded with a detailed Existing Conditions Facilities Assessment and Masterplan to identify the most efficient manner of modernizing each facility.
